More Good News For Raleigh

Syngenta Biotechnology filed site plans to build a 147,290 square foot facility in RTP. Syngenta currently employs 400 people and has approximately 200,000 square feet.

Research in Motion continues to hire and expand. They now have 78,000 square feet of space which reflects a 50% increase over what they had last fall. This gives RIM enough space to accommodate 200 software developers.
Cree's latest expansion is being called Cree Silicon North. They started site work to accommodate 400,000 square feet of space. This will increase their total square footage by almost 50%.

TyraTech, a pesticide research organization, announced they will move their headquarters from Florida to our very own Morrisville and will bring 150 jobs.

Tear Science signed a lease for 25,000 square feet of space in Perimeter Park.

Lord Corporation is currently planning a new 51,000 square foot building in Cary.

WakeMed is expanding with an emergency care center that will add 74 new jobs at the WakeMed Brier Creek Healthplex.

IT Jobs continue to rise in NC; 4,840 jobs advertised in March, which is a 86% jump from March 2010.

Optimism is back: This is the first year since 2008 that all major indicators for the larger companies in the United States are positive - sales, profits, assets and market value. This is a sure sign that hiring should pick up in the near future.

McDonalds announced they plan on hiring 50,000 workers.
Consumer sentiment reached its second highest reading since the downturn began in 2008.

Despite the beating that home prices have taken, 8 out of 10 Americans still feel that owning a home is the single best long-term investment.
U.S. factories increased production for the ninth straight month while consumer prices only rose 0.1% last month.

March payrolls grew by 216,000 jobs.

Folks, this project was going to be 250 condos but now have now they will be apartments. I guess that is s sign of the changing times but still good news for Cameron Village! DOT has left the 3 story building across the street and now the owner is thinking of doing the same, more mix use apts. You thought that corner was a mess now, wait a few more years! Monthly News Letter from Pat Lawson

Folks, its May already! Currently rates still continue to inch upward but are staying under 5%, currently at 4.75% for a 30 year fix, up from 4.5% or below.

There are deals out there no matter what your taste. Do not wait! With 3 major universities and the Research Triangle Park, the Raleigh market continues to fair well while other markets are depressed. Of all closed properties for example in the Charlotte market, 51% are foreclosures. Ouch!!

I continue to see some incredible deals on land, commercial property and new residential construction. Prices are steady in some areas but have dropped 20% or more in others.

Is Cameron Village Ready??

Well I am disappointed to report that the Cameron Village condo project appears to be switched to apartments. 250 of them and there maybe more coming across the street. That means condos in downtown, only about 650 of them may see a price increase. Let's hope so and if you want one, call me today at, 919-669-3937.
